Patient Orientation Class is held once a week at 6:00pm. It is a requirement for new patients, but all are always welcome to attend. See the front desk to sign up. This month class will be held each week on Wednesday, February 8th and 22nd and Monday, February 13th and 27th. Please help us to help you! We ask that you arrive about 10 minutes before your actual appointment time to allow for: heavy traffic/construction/weather, waiting for the kiosk tablet and a bathroom stop. If you are late, we will attempt to work you back into the schedule as quickly as possible. However, we need to also prioritize patients who arrived for their scheduled time. Please bear with us! If you arrive and do not enter all the information for your visit on the kiosk or notify the doctor of a notable change in your condition due to an injury, fall or illness we may have to reschedule all or part of your appointment. Please understand for you to receive appropriate care, the doctor must fulfill due diligence and that may require a re-examination and/or films. This is for safety and is determined by the doctor. The best way to avoid unnecessary waiting or rescheduling is to let us know ahead of your appointment time. Thank you!!
Condition of the Month: PREGNANCY
All chiropractors are trained to work with women who are pregnant. Investing in the fertility and pregnancy wellness of women who are pregnant or trying to conceive is a routine care for most chiropractors. During pregnancy, there are several physiological and endocrinological changes that occur in preparation for creating the environment for the developing baby.
The following changes can result in a misaligned spine or joints:
Protruding abdomen and increased back curve
Pelvic changes/pain
Postural adaptations
Establishing pelvic balance and alignment is another reason to obtain chiropractic care during pregnancy. When the pelvis is misaligned it may reduce the amount of room available for the developing baby. This restriction is called intrauterine constraint. A misaligned pelvis may also make it difficult for the baby to get into the best possible position for delivery. The muscle contractions may be uncoordinated and ineffective due to misinformation from the nerves themselves, or from imbalance of musculoskeletal compensations. This can affect the mother’s ability to have a natural, non-invasive birth. Breech and posterior positions can interfere with the natural ease of labor and lead to interventions such as c-sections. The Webster Technique in chiropractic has a 94% effectiveness rating to correct baby positioning if used in the 34-37th weeks of pregnancy. It is painless as well!
The nervous system is the master communication system to all the body systems including the reproductive system. Keeping the spine aligned helps the entire body work more effectively.

More and more articles and research are showing that interval training is just as effective as longer cardio training. Studies show that short bursts of high energy output balanced with slow down are showing benefits even an hour after exercise. This is good news for busy people, which seem to be most of us! Check out your favorite exercise guru or go to mercola.com to find out the science behind shorter, effective work outs!
